This museum was completed in 1936 and is located next to the National War Memorial. The building used to house the National Gallery, the National Art Gallery of New Zealand and the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, and currently houses part of the Massey Wellington University campus. Prior to 1913, the Dominion Museum was known as the Colonial Museum which was originally housed in a small wooden building. This museum contains artifacts covering New Zealand's war experiences, such as paintings, cannons, and much more.
