Innsbruck Cathedral, a former St. James parish church, was restored in 1964. Perhaps its most prominent western landmark is the high twin tower and the high dome above the choir. It was built in the Baroque style in 1724 AD, and was completely restored after World War II. Interior touches include stunning ceiling paintings glorifying St James, and Baroque marble altars from 1732 depicting the famous Virgin, Maria Hilf.
