The Musée du Seringal Villa Paraíso was opened in the rural area of Manaus in 2002, a museum that reproduces a rubber plantation from the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, the period of the rubber boom and the period of great economic rise in the city. On a guided tour, it will be possible to discover everything from the rubber leather production process to the underlying difference between the way of life of a rubber collector, who lived in conditions similar to slavery, and a plantation owner. The facilities were originally used as filming locations for the international feature film "A Selva".
