The Great Mosque is an active Islamic temple that tourists can visit outside of prayer times. The mosque contains one minaret, which is also available to visitors and provides a wonderful view of the city. The main building material used in building the mosque was limestone, which owes the building a yellowish beige color. The mosque has a long history dating back to the thirteenth century.
