Derbent Dam is one of the oldest dams in the world. It was built in Samsun with the aim of preserving water and distributing it fairly to the surrounding remote villages. The dam was built in a contemporary architectural style, with stone concrete columns and massive plinths. Today, only a few of the existing ruins remain from the dam, which tourists and visitors from all over the world come to see!
