The island of Delos is located near the center of the Cyclades archipelago, and is one of the most important mythological, historical and archaeological sites in Greece, and includes a group of excavations, the largest in the Mediterranean region, and many artifacts have been preserved in the Archaeological Museum in Delos and the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. It is also worth noting that the island was originally a sacred sanctuary for over a thousand years before Greek Olympic myths made it the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis.
