This tower dates back to the 14th century and is the last remnant of the old city walls of Lausanne, most of which were built during the 18th century. The tower of the automatic tower was distinguished by a stone architectural design, with a height of about 20 meters, and was built for purely military purposes, so that the soldiers could have a wide view of the entrances to the city, in anticipation of enemy attacks.
