Information about Dar As Saraya Museum
Dar Al Saraya is a Jordanian archaeological museum dating back to the Ottoman era in the Levant, specifically to the mid-nineteenth century, when it was established as a fortress over the southern edge of Tell Irbid. The museum consists of seven halls, six of which are part of the original Ottoman building consisting of a group of rooms surrounding an open courtyard. It has been used over the years for several purposes, including its use as a royal palace, and also as a prison. You will enjoy your visit to the museum due to the wonderful architecture that is evident in its design, as well as learning about an important part of Jordan's history.
