It is the oldest church in the city and was built in 1059 AD. The church is considered one of the most beautiful Roman buildings located on the eastern Adriatic coast of the island. The church was originally composed of only three naves, then it was restored later and added many other architectural elements, including a Gothic bell tower in 1299 AD; Which ranks among one of the oldest buildings on the Croatian coast. The church is also surrounded by large green spaces where many different trees and plants grow, which add to the double aesthetic of the church building.
