Creta Aquarium was opened in December 2005. It offers its visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the great Mediterranean world. It contains 1,700,000 liters of sea water, and is home to 2,000 species of marine animals, 200 different species found in the Mediterranean basin, along with a suitable landscape, successfully representing the Cretan and Mediterranean seas. You can see large sharks, small seahorses, octopus, sea turtles, eels, Dusky grouper, red scorpion fish and many other animals of the sea world. There is also a wonderful shop selling unique souvenirs.
