Corcovado National Park, established in 1975 AD, covers an area of 424 square kilometers and covers about a third of the Osa Peninsula, and is the largest protected park in Costa Rica. National Geographic called it "the densest place in terms of biodiversity on Earth", with a wide range of rainforests, scenic trails, and beautiful beaches, and inhabited by diverse animals such as the endangered giant anteater, eagle, tapir, wild cats, and others.
