Information about Copou Park
Located on the hill of Kubo, Kubo is the oldest public park in Iai and one of the first in Romania. It was established in 1834 during the reign of Mihail Sturdza, and in the center of the park stands the Monument of Lions, a monument with a height of 13.5 m. Known as the Monument of Constitutional Laws, and other local attractions such as the Emenescu linden tree, the Mihai Emenescu Museum, and a series of busts of prominent figures of Roman culture beside the main alley of the park, Kobo is a popular destination with tourists and locals, and a favorite location for poetry festivals and fairs. Photography and arts and crafts fairs, including the National Ceramics Gallery, which brings together master potters from all over Romania.
