The Cognac Gay Museum was opened in 1929, and it is a museum that houses a small but diverse collection of French artworks of the eighteenth century. The museum houses more than 1,200 objects including paintings, sculptures, drawings, furniture and decorative collectibles, also from the 18th century. The museum building consists of five floors, where visitors will be able to discover some rooms of the palace such as the kitchen or the servants’ quarters on the upper floor, where all rooms in the building contain various decorative objects and artworks that Cognac and his wife collected throughout their lives together.
