The city gate or "City Gate" is a large gate located at the entrance to the city of Valletta, and it is the fifth gate to be built in this location according to the designs of the Italian architect Renzo Piano, and the first gate that was present on the site was called "Porta San Giorgio", which was built in 1569, was demolished and rebuilt several times over the years until it became its present form by 2014.
