The CIGS Zoo is one of the city's premier recreational facilities, which houses more than 200 animals, many of which have been rescued after injury or confiscated from smugglers, including mammals, birds, reptiles and fish. One of the most beautiful environments in the park is the Monkey Nursery, which occupies the central area of the zoo, and brings together different species of rare monkeys. The park has been ranked among the top 25 zoos and aquariums in South America.
