Chizhevsky Reservoir ranks as the largest artificial lake in Belarus. The construction of the reservoir began in 1968 with the aim of increasing the amount of fresh water in the republic's capital, Minsk, to feed the largest possible number of natural areas in it. The reservoir has great importance and fame, not only for what it offers to the city, but it is also a tourist area with a distinctive landscape, where giant trees and green fields are distributed on its sides in a distinctive natural painting.
