The old church of San Marcos Evangelista was founded in 1607 and then expanded to build a new church of beautiful proportions. It was demolished in the early twentieth century and the current temple was built in the distinctive Gothic style, which was built by the famous architect Antonio Pintor, and contains distinctive archaeological sculptures.
