Information about Church of Procopius
The only surviving Byzantine church from the late antique period in Jerash, it is located in the eastern half of the city. This church was erected in the sixth century under the supervision of an officer named Procopius, in the days of Bishop Paul. It consists of a central nave and two side aisles. It is one of the few remains that have been discovered in the eastern quadrant of ancient Gerasa. The church is distinguished by its archaeological and historical features that made it a place worth visiting.
