The Church of Our Lady of Cure is located on a high mountain slope that leads from the old town to St. John's Castle. It was built at the beginning of the 15th century, by locals honoring the Holy Mother in appreciation of saving the city from the plague, but the first references were dated 1518. An older religious building dating from the 6th century, relating to the early Christian period, has been found as a result Archaeological excavations. The walls of the church are decorated with paintings depicting the life of the Blessed Virgin: Nativity, Entry into the Temple, Annunciation and Ascension to Heaven. When you visit the church, you can see the Bay of Kotor from it, and many of the scenic landscapes.
