This church was built in the years between 1640 and 1642, by the architects Giovanni Angelo Galassini and Antonio Castelli. Its bell tower dates back to 1661. The building was renovated from the outside in 1829 by the architect Domenico Fontana di Cureglia. It is a wonderful Baroque church, where you will find marble columns, ornate walls, many statues, as well as many distinctive ancient paintings. The church is located in the heart of Lugano, so it is easily accessible by public transport.
