The building of the Chemnitz City Theater was subjected to some severe damage during the Second World War. It was restored in the fifties of the twentieth century to preserve its impressive and distinctive architectural designs. It is dedicated to holding opera, ballet, plays, symphonic concerts, and puppet theater, in 3 different halls.
