The Chemnitz Botanical Garden was founded in 1898 AD, and it extends over an area of up to 12 hectares of orchards, greenhouses and spacious lawns, which is home to 800 species of plants from around the world, including medicinal and aromatic plants, annual and perennial flowers, cactus greenhouses, carnivorous plants and plants of the Mediterranean basin average and others. This is in addition to sections dedicated to simulating Central European habitats of sand dunes, ponds, swamps and 20 diverse forest environments, as well as a water pond dedicated to the magnificent stork.
