It is a historic bridge that crosses the Vltava River in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction began in 1357 AD under the patronage of King Charles IV, and was completed at the beginning of the fifteenth century AD. It was severely damaged by a flood in the year 13AD. The Charles Bridge is one of the most important links between Prague Castle, the Old Town and the surrounding areas. In addition, it was an important trade route between Eastern and Western Europe.
