The Chao Sam Phraya National Museum contains gold jewellery, Buddha images, ancient paintings and other artifacts that were excavated during the restoration of the famous Wat Ratchapurana. The museum is quiet and full of ancient historical tales, and has a professional staff with a great deal of knowledge of Thailand's history and archeology, in addition to English-language lists explaining in detail about each exhibit.
