Information about Central Friday Mosque
This amazing mosque was built in 1898 AD, with the help and care of the local people in the city of Gabala. It was built of wood, and was restored in 1906 AD using greenhouses and stone materials. During the Soviet era, the Friday Mosque in Gabala was converted into a meeting hall, a place and a club for holding sessions. All property of the mosque was confiscated and religious literature in the building was burned, even all scientific books written in Arabic with the Arabic alphabet and scientific collections on Islamic history were spontaneously destroyed. Shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Museum of History Studies was established in the mosque building. In 2004, the mosque building was demolished, and in the same year it was repaired, and in 2005 the mosque was used as a center of worship after several years. Today, this mosque receives many local worshipers and tourists, and it still retains its special traditional beauty and antique appearance. .
