Information about Central Botanical Garden
The Central Botanical Garden is one of the largest botanical gardens in Europe. The decision was made to establish it in 1945. The garden covers an area of 331.49 hectares, and contains more than 18,000 species of plants and trees. It is a national treasure of Russia, as the garden has become a symbol of the victory of the Russian people in the Patriotic War. Great in 1991, and named the garden after Academician Nikolai Vasilievich Tsitsyn (1898-1980) an outstanding botanist and geneticist, winner of the Lenin Prize and other international awards. This park is visited by locals and tourists from all over the world. It has plenty of places to sit and relax, so don't miss out on the opportunity to visit it if you're in the city!
