The history of the cave of the Companions of the Cave dates back to the Byzantine era, and thus is one of the oldest archaeological monuments in the country, which is believed to belong to the owners of the cave who were mentioned in the Holy Qur’an. The cave is also known as the Cave of Al-Raqeem mentioned in the surahs of the Qur'an. Today, this cave with a unique natural formation that includes internal rooms, is one of the most important archaeological tourist facilities in the city.
