The Basilica Eger is also called the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. John, and is the main cathedral of the Eger diocese, which means that bishops carry out their daily tasks there, and it is the second largest temple in Hungary. János László Pyrker was appointed Archbishop of Eger in In 1827, the chief architect of the time, József Hild, was asked to design this magnificent building.
