The site is the cathedral and official museum of the Diocese of Vienna. It was established in 1933 and has earned a reputation for being one of the best gallery formats around the city. The museum contains statues and collectibles representing more than a thousand years of Roman Catholic history in the country, as well as works of modern and contemporary art. The largest and most important exhibit is the collection of St. Stephen's Cathedral, and Stephen's portrait is the most prominent in the exhibition and the oldest in the entire Western world. It is an amazing place and highly recommended.
