When the powerful Ottoman Empire was slowly taking over several parts of Europe during the 15th century, the small medieval castle of Kruja in Albania remained out of its reach. Built in the 5th or 6th century, this castle is located above the city of the same name. At the time of the Ottoman threat, it was the headquarters of Gjergj Kastrioti, nicknamed "The Dragon of Albania"; He is an Albanian noble and military leader. The castle now contains a museum dedicated to this legendary Albanian leader, and the exhibits are arranged in a way that chronicles his life and military achievements, one of the proudest periods in Albanian history.
