Information about Castelvecchio Bridge
The Castelvecchio Bridge, also known as the Scaliger Bridge, is Verona's bridge over the Adige River and is part of the Castelvecchio Castle, and is considered Verona's most daring and impressive medieval work. The bridge was built between 1354 AD and 1356 AD, in order to ensure an escape route towards Tirol in the event of a riot by one of the enemy factions inside the city. The bridge is characterized by a strong and distinctive design, including arches and crowns that still exist to this day, with glory that reflects the city's nose and strength.
