Located just 24 km from Alicante, the picturesque Pleiades Caves resemble a majestic Gothic cathedral from the inside, believed to date back to 740 AD, but took more than seven million years to be created by limestone rocks eroded by water. It is used by visitors today during the Civil War, when the caves provided refuge for Republican forces and were used as a factory for aircraft and gunpowder barrels.
