The historic café is the oldest in the capital, and perhaps one of the oldest cafés in Latin America at all. It was opened in 1858 by a French immigrant named Touan. backwards; Due to the presence of many of its original features intact, the "Tortoni" cafe offers a purely Argentinean taste, where café-goers can participate in the tango dance or simply watch or hear its music. The café offers a variety of sweets and delicious dishes, and various types of coffee and tea.
