Bundala National Park is located off the Sri Lankan coast, about 12 km from the coastal city of Hambantota. It was declared a national park in 1993, and is very popular for its migratory waterfowl. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a biosphere reserve, and has few water lakes. Salinity, sand dunes and dense forests, and a half-day safari trip through them is a great opportunity to look at the diverse flora and fauna of Sri Lanka and enjoy the serenity of nature.
