Surrounded by cypress trees near the outskirts of Merano, Brownsburg Castle is one of the oldest monuments in the region, dating back to the 13th century when it was established for defensive military purposes. The castle building includes, in addition to the strongholds of soldiers, towers and defensive fortifications, a church and an altar, and the church includes a group of antique paintings and silver cups with valuable religious connotations.
