Founded in 1868, the Bratislava City Museum is the oldest museum in the city. It is a museum dedicated to documenting the history of the city since medieval Bratislava, including the history of trade, handicrafts, science, technology, culture and the arts. On its ground floor there is the Sacred Fine Arts Gallery, and the Handicrafts Handicrafts Gallery. Attached to the museum is the town hall tower.
