Information about Bourguiba Mosque
The Bourguiba Mosque was built in 1963. It is characterized by a traditional architecture, distinguished by its rich decoration, and is entered through 19 doors made of carved teak wood and the work of craftsmen from Kairouan. The prayer hall contains 86 columns of pink marble, and it can accommodate 1,000 worshipers. The mihrab is framed by columns of onyx, and the slender octagonal minaret shows the Ottoman influence, and nearby is the huge Bourguiba mausoleum with its three domes and minarets that indicate the entrance to the complex.
