The beautiful Boulders Beach is one of the most visited beaches in Cape Town, and the only place in the world that allows people to get close to African penguins. In 1982, a pair of these unique birds settled on the soft white sand among the large granite boulders that protect the beach from winds and large stormy waves, and today they are estimated to number between 2,000 and 3,000 penguins. This beach is not only a great place to watch penguins, but also a family-friendly location, where children can climb over the rocks or swim in the clear waters of the bay.
