It is a botanical garden of the University of Rostock, founded in 1885, spread over a large area of 7.8 hectares, containing more than 10,000 plant species from colorful flowers, trees, small shrubs and herbs. The garden consists of a group of greenhouses and Japanese gardens, in addition to a garden dedicated to medicinal plants and spices. The garden is adorned with pools, stone basins, sculptures, dirt paths and aqueducts, along with a small wooden hut located in the heart of the garden.
