The Temple of the Big Buddha is located on the top of Pratumnak Hill between Pattaya and Jomtien Beach, and you cannot fail to notice his enormous Buddha statue standing 18 meters high through the trees. The 20th century when Pattaya was nothing more than a fishing village, the temple is very popular with tour groups who love to see the intricate design of the statue and temple complex, but it is also revered by the locals who come to pray there. Despite the large tourist crowds at the temple, wreaths and burning incense create a serene spiritual setting, perfect for exploring the many smaller Buddhas, the pavilion's hall with beautifully painted mosaics on the walls, and partial views of Jomtien Beach.
