Many locals and foreign tourists are keen to visit the Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, which consist of 600 sanctuaries dating back to before the first human inhabitants of India, 400 of which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and they depict many home scenes, various hunting scenes, dance ceremonies and religious rituals and animals and other rock paintings from the early Stone Age to the Middle Ages.
