It is a nature reserve located at the mouth of the Yogani River in Durban. It is considered a national monument rather than exploiting it. It was declared in 1977. It protects 76 hectares of the natural estuary system. Within the nature reserve are red, white and black mangroves, crabs, mud hoppers, and other species of fish. Other birds, tidal nature, have developed many interesting walking routes.
