Located in a village of the same name in Bali famous for being the home of artists and painters, Batuan Temple is a beautiful 11th century Hindu temple with many notable carvings around it, many thatched-roof shrines with floral motifs and statues of the gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Local artists also display their work in a hall across from the temple, allowing visitors to purchase some traditional Balinese artwork, batik and other handicrafts.
