The decision to build this stunning Gothic church was made in 1303, and the exterior, covered in two-tone marble, was completed in 1339 by the famous architect Celino de Nes. It is believed that this building was inspired by the eastern Levantine buildings, as this architect visited the Levant and admired the unique architecture of white and gray colors. The interior of the church has a stunning golden altar and mosaic-covered walls.
