Located in the old city of Geneva, the Barbier Mueller Museum was established in 1977 to preserve the study and publication of the Joseph Mueller collection that began in 1907. The Art Collection of Primitive Civilizations contains more than 7,000 objects and is the largest collection of tribal art in the scientist; Notably, there are four sections: Antiquity, Africa, the South Seas, and North America, and the collections include pieces of cloth, tapestries, jewelry, masks, sculptures made from a variety of materials, and decorative art.
