The Esmir Dam is considered one of the largest dams in the north of Morocco. It is located specifically to the southeast of the Nakhla Dam, 5 km west of the city of M'diq. The main purpose of its construction was to supply the city of Tetouan with water 12 km to the south. Today, the dam is one of the alternative natural tourist facilities that the city's residents visit to escape from the city's congestion.
