The Bambu Runcing Monument is a distinctive feature of Surabaya, and was established in honor of the freedom fighters who used bamboo sticks as weapons when conventional war weapons were difficult to obtain during the Battle of Surabaya. It is made of three upright bamboo spears surrounded by a fountain and beautiful flowerbeds. This landmark is located in the heart of Surabaya and close to Surabaya Zoo.
