Information about Ballhaus
Set in a chestnut grove in Kassel, the Ballhaus Museum is a somewhat unremarkable building that will reveal itself as a neoclassical gem as soon as you walk through the door. The monument was built as a court theater during the reign of Jérôme Bonaparte from 1808 to 1810, and later was converted into a ballroom and theater. With its understated elegance, the main facade stands in stark contrast to the exquisite appearance of the interior. Above all, it is the colorful ballroom that makes the building so special today. The wall panels are decorated with distinctive motifs based on ancient Roman models. In this masterpiece, the most important events, very special concerts and special opera performances, which are restricted to some people, are held.
