Balaton Uplands National Park is a nature reserve overlooking the northern banks of the picturesque Lake Balaton, and is one of Hungary's most popular tourist attractions. This national reserve extends over an area of approximately 56,000 hectares, and is interspersed with long hiking and climbing trails, natural caves, diverse plants and trees, towering mountains and volcanic hills, as well as being home to many animals and birds. A visit to this amazing park is like visiting an open air nature museum.
