Information about Avdat National Park

In the heart of the vast Negev desert and on top of a beautiful hill are the magnificent remains of an ancient Nabatean city called the ancient city of Abdat, and this amazing city was the most important city on the Incense Road after Petra between the first and seventh centuries BC. The town was named Abdat, in reference to the Nabataean King Ubadah, who founded it. While wandering among the remains of this amazing town, visitors will find buildings, caves and Nabatean inscriptions, and many archaeologists in the area have found spear heads made of flint, knives and hand tools from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages.
